REPLACEMENT DOUBLE GLAZED UNIT 5 YEAR GUARANTEE.

What is covered

Keepsafe Double Glazing Repairs guarantees replacement double-glazed units supplied and installed by us for a period of 5 years from the date of installation.

If, during this period, an intact double-glazed unit becomes materially obscured by internal condensation or internal dust as a result of a manufacturing failure of the sealed unit, we will supply a replacement double-glazed unit, subject to inspection and verification by us.

Labour and fitting charge

Replacement glass units supplied under this guarantee will be provided free of charge. A flat £60 labour and fitting charge will apply to each guarantee visit. This covers the removal of the failed unit and installation of the replacement unit.

Where more than one qualifying unit is replaced during the same visit at the same property, only one £60 labour and fitting charge will apply.

Exclusions

  • Breakage, accidental damage, misuse or damage caused by third parties.
  • Failure resulting from circumstances outside our reasonable control, including movement or distortion of the window or door frame, structural movement or building subsidence.
  • Scratches, marks or other visual imperfections that fall within accepted industry visual-quality standards.
  • Optical distortion associated with toughened glass, including roller wave.
  • Stepped double-glazed units.
  • Optical effects such as interference colour bands, sometimes known as Brewster’s Fringes.
  • Units installed or subsequently used in unusual or specialist service conditions for which they were not designed, unless agreed by us in writing.

The visual quality of installed insulating glass units will be assessed in accordance with the appropriate Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) visual quality guidelines.

Making a claim

Customers should contact Keepsafe Double Glazing Repairs if they believe a unit has failed within the guarantee period. We reserve the right to inspect the unit to determine whether the failure is covered before arranging a replacement. Proof of the original installation may be required.

Who is covered

This guarantee applies to the original customer to whom the replacement double-glazed unit was supplied and installed and is not transferable unless otherwise agreed by Keepsafe Double Glazing Repairs in writing.

Your statutory rights

This guarantee is provided in addition to your legal rights. Nothing in this guarantee affects or limits your statutory rights as a consumer.
